This obesity statistic is an increase from 27.1% in 2013 and 25.5% in 2008, and the trend is continuing upward. Other health conditions can be exacerbated by obesity and so it is important to educate patients on how losing weight can not only increase their health and survival, but also contribute to a better overall quality of life.
