CVS Pharmacy Offering Three OTC COVID-19 Tests

CVS Pharmacy has announced the availability of 3 OTC COVID-19 testing options in stores and online, according to the press release.

The available tests are the Ellume COVID-19 Home Test, the Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test, and the Pixel by Labcorp PCR Test Home Collection Kit. Each test has received FDA Emergency Use Authorization (EUA), does not require a prescription, and is intended for use by individuals with or without symptoms.

The Ellume COVID-19 Home Test is the first rapid, fully at-home test to receive an EUA for at-home use without prescription. This test delivers results in 15 minutes through a free app downloaded to a smartphone without the need for a second test and will be available in select locations starting April 19, according to the press release.

The Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test also delivers results in 15 minutes and includes a box with 2 tests that should be administered twice over 3 days with at least 36 hours between tests. These tests are available in 5600 CVS Pharmacy locations with additional locations to follow in the coming weeks.

Finally, the Pixel by Labcorp PCR Test Home Collection Kit is the exact test used by physicians across the United States, with results typically available within 1 to 2 days and it can be accessed via the Pixel by Labcorp website. The test is available now online and in select stores in Alabama, Massachusetts , Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
