CVS: Heart Health Screenings at No Cost in February

CVS Health is offering no-cost 'Know Your Numbers' heart health screenings every Th

ursday in February, including Valentine’s Day, at MinuteClinic. The retail medical clinic MinuteClinic is found inside select CVS Pharmacy and Target stores in 33 states and the District of Columbia.

In support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign, CVS has also extended its $15 million commitment to

research and education. Customers can make a $1, $3, or larger donation at the register of their local CVS Pharmacy store through February 23.

Those interested can visit their local MinuteClinic on February 7, 14, 21 and 28 to receive a no-cost heart health preventive screening, supported by Tylenol. Through this screening, they will also learn 5 key personal health numbers to help them determine their risk for

: total cholesterol, HDL (good) cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar and body mass index.

Jennifer Mieres, MD, an American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women medical expert, said in a prepared statement that cardiovascular disease remains women’s greatest health threat, since nearly 1 in 3 women die every year from a heart-related disease. “But by empowering women to be aware which includes knowing your numbers move more, eat smart and manage blood pressure, we can change that fact,” she said.

To receive a free screening, patients can

, print a copy and bring it with them to scan at the MinuteClinic registration kiosk. Alternatively, patients can use a mobile phone to show the voucher to the provider after registering at the kiosk.
